Modeling Job

Have you been attending casting call after casting call, looking for agencies to sign you with no luck? This might be for a variety of reasons, but there are special tricks that will make sure that you give the best impression when going to a go-see. Here are ways that you can improve your chances of getting modeling agencies to sign you.

Smile, be confident, and greet the modeling agents calmly. Nothing will show more about your talent than a confident attitude. You could look as beautiful as Tyra Banks, but without confidence, you will not go anywhere in the modeling world. Be calm, be cool, and don’t sweat it. Above all, avoid the look of desperation that many models often get during a meeting with modeling agents.

Wear clothing that is plain, form  fitting, and flattering. Do NOT be the one model at a casting call who comes dressed in bizarre, frumpy, and downright awful clothing. By wearing wild clothing, you are only hurting your chances at getting any callback from modeling agencies.

Bring a portfolio of your best work. Agencies rarely sign models who don’t have experience. When going to any modeling agencies at all, it’s important to show them that not only do you have potential, you have experience. By bringing the best that you have to offer, you will show them how good you can really be.  Don't have much experience?

Come prepared with some knowledge of what you can and cannot model. Mention things like, “I think I would be a great hand model, or fit model.” Talking to them, and showing them that they don’t have to decide what you should model or you takes a huge weight off the agent’s shoulders. Modeling agencies look for all kinds of models, and everyone has a different look that they need to find. However, not waiting for agencies to do everything for you will make you a better bet than someone who expects the world of modeling to simply fall on a platter.

Explain to modeling agencies that you understand that agencies are a business, and that you can provide services to help them make money. The biggest pet peeve of many agents is when an aspiring model starts a rant about how modeling is her dream when they ask why they should sign them with the agency. Modeling agencies always look for women and men who understand the business side of the modeling world.

Lastly, come prepared with the possibility of being told "no." If a modeling agent tells you to fix certain things, then come back, that is a good sign. It may not sound like a good sign now, but that means that they are still interested in signing you, but certain things need to change before you do. Don't give up, and whatever you do, do NOT throw a tantrum in the middle of the modeling agency, or insult the modeling agents. This mistake will not only ruin your chances of getting signed permanently, but will also destroy any possibility of keeping your dignity intact.
